About the Procedure
By removing fat cells from areas that have some to spare, Dr. L. Richard Morgan can repurpose them as filler. Excess fat cells are usually extracted with either a cannula (a small tube that is used for liposuction) or a syringe, and are taken from the buttocks, lower abdomen, thighs, or other suitable donor sites. Once the fat is removed, it’s purified to eliminate unwanted liquid.
The purified fat is then injected into the targeted area. This is repeated until desired results are achieved. The special advantage of the fat transfer is how the procedure utilizes the patient’s own fatty tissue. By doing so, the patient won’t experience an allergic reaction, which occasionally occurs with collagen injections or other dermal fillers.
