DR. L. RICHARD MORGAN: I think that my philosophy of plastic surgery of the face was formulated by the treatment of young people. Actually it started with war injuries and I was trained by people who had that as a background in the first and second world war. So in my training, we saw a lot of young people and people that wanted to take care of defects that caused them an emotional drain. And so we thought that if we could help that, then they could put their emotional energy someplace else to good use.

We take care of things that come from injuries and those, then we just try to restore them, people to what they were or could be. But there are some things that are problems and we can address those either with cheek implants. There are chin implants. I think everyone is trying to achieve a balance and today, you can do that with the facial techniques that involve cheek implants, chin implants, lip augmentation and taking care of things on the face. Again, I think people are not necessarily trying to stand out, but they'd like to have their best features come forward.
